Chase Kalisz Wins Swimming Men's 400-meter Invidual Medley as the U.S.  Claimed Its First Gold Medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics…!

TOKYO,JP(SMI-SPORTS,07.23-08.08.21)-Chase Kalisz wins the swimming 400-meter medley individual competition as the US claimed its first gold medal at the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olimpics.

 

With the US dissapointing in the first day of competition for not winning a medal, Kalisz put the American team back in track by winning the swimming men's 400-meter individual medley and claiming the first gold medal for the US in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

 

Kalisz, who won a silver medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics wasted no time and jumped into the lead not looking back touching the wall first in 4 minutes and 9.42 seconds. In the other hand, fellow American Jay Litherland followed behind him  reaching the wall  in 4:10.28 to obtained the silver and first two medals  for the US.

In other swimming competitions, Jay Litherland and Emma Weyant won a silver medal each at Men's 400-meter invidual Medley and  women's 400-meter individual Medley. 

The Americans team also won 4 bronze medals, three in the swimming competitions with Kieran Smith finishing 3rd in the men’s 400 freestyle, Hali Flickinger in the women's 400-meter individual Medley and  women's team in women's 4x 100m Freestyle Relay.The other bronce medal was obtained by Jagger Eaton in the  Skateboarding sport, bringing a total of 7 medals for the US in the early 2nd day competitions of the 2020 Tokyo Olimoics.
